Happy World Fringe Day, Augusta! It’s a great day to celebrate indie & offbeat performance art, especially right here in Augusta, Georgia. That’s because we’ve just announced that we will be hosting our very first Fringe Festival at Le Chat Noir in March 2027!
What an auspicious day to announce a new Fringe Festival! We’re joining a network of hundreds of festivals worldwide that showcase the one-of-a-kind performance artists of their regions.
What is a Fringe Festival? Fringe festivals were born as a concept in Edinburgh in 1947, but each one is unique to its community.
Regardless of location, event-goers can expect to experience out-of-the-box performances and interactive events hosted by passionate artists.
Events that take place during a Fringe Festival are planned and executed by artists who collaborate with venues and production teams to bring their art forms into new territory that we know as the “fringe.”

Onwards to Augusta Fringe Festival! We are underway on planning our first Fringe Festival, but we need to hear from you! We are seeking artists, supporters of theater, and sponsors to make this event a true Augusta original. Dare we say, a “Festival like no other?”
